In late-2019, my good friend and former counterpart at The Suffolk Journal launched his second book of poetry titled Love Across The Zodiac, a self-reflective, contemplative and vivid work of art in the form of written word. A creative soul and creative writer, Viveiros dives into the melancholic and triumphant parts of his life, writing of dark times and struggles as well as his will to prevail against them. This book will truly make you take a step back and smell the roses and realize that, yes, times get tough, but through those tough times come the will to survive; the will to keep going. The human condition and its complexities are explored at length in LATZ like no other. Viveiros published, illustrated and wrote all content of the book.
“Sometimes, writing has no meaning, or multiple meanings. Meanings you discover days, weeks, months, even years later. Meanings that others find that you couldn’t,” Viveiros said of the book when I asked, months after its release. “For me to say that Love Across the Zodiac has one meaning or another would be an extremely dishonest thing to do.”
He continued. “In terms of subject matter, it’s more of the same — one of the reasons I really don’t like the version that got published. Love, loss, trauma, repeat. There’s so much more to life than all the dark things. They’re important to examine, to dissect, and to learn from. But they’re not the whole story.”
